The true-to-life story tells the tale of Caribbean immigrant twins June and Jennifer Gibbons and their life during the 1970s and 1980s. As a result of being bullied, they refused to communicate with others and only talked with each other. They create elaborate stories and fantasy worlds where they choose to live instead of the real one.
