In 1996, amidst the booming technology industry in Ontario, Mike Lazaridis finds a corner of the market to stake his claim, crafting a new type of cellular phone with internet capabilities and a keyboard to promote work-life cross-functionality. Dubbing his creation a smartphone, Lazaridis soon finds himself flying too close to the sun as corporate greed and imitations soon encroach upon his creation.
