After a shipwreck that strands it, the intelligent robot Rozzum—Roz for short—must learn to survive in the harsh island environment it escapes to. To do so, Roz bonds with the island's animal inhabitants, who teach it how to thrive. Ultimately, Roz ends up hatching and raising an orphaned baby goose that must also learn how to survive in this isolated location.
